Cypriot Meliz Serman who competed for the West End theatrical role of Maria Von Trapp sung for the last time on BBC1’ “How to solve a problem like Maria?” Last Saturday the 26th of August Maria hopefuls Helena Blackman and Meliz received the fewest votes on the third show after the results of the televoting were announced. Presenter Graham Norton then invited the two to sing for survival in a final bid to choose who stays in the contest and who leaves. After singing ‘Take That Look Off Your Face’, Andrew Lloyd Webber criticised both girls on their weaknesses but ultimately it was Meliz Serman who had to say farewell to the seven other contestant. Despite the send off, Meliz has left a very positive impression on Andrew Lloyd Webber and the British public who supported her. Meliz had successfully beaten over 6000 Maria wanabees national wide to receive a place among the ten contestants. |
