Around fifty Turkish Cypriot footballers from Northern Cyprus who arrived in London last Friday to play with UK football teams were welcomed at the Turkish Cypriot Community Association (TCCA) in Harringay. The fifty footballers who represent the Northern Cyprus teams Cetinkaya and Akincilar (Luricina) were joined by one hundred more people who included the directors of the two teams, the team coaches and technicians. Sixteen journalists also arived from Northern Cyprus. The group were greeted at the Harringay TCCA community building, where they were offered traditional Cypriot lunch at the centre’s restaurant Cyprus Kitchens. TCCA committee member Niyazi Enver, London CTP chairman Ilker Kilic and TRNC Interior Minister Ozkan Murat welcomed the team to London. |
