In a bid to promote Tackling Drugs Day, Haringey’s Alcohol, Drug and Action team is asking all drug users or their family or friends who sek help or advice to make use of the Council’s free services. Wednesday 23 May 2007. Haringey’s Alcohol, Drug and Action who will be hosting stalls and a table/display of information and freebies for he next fw months. Yesterday the team were available for free consultation at numrous libraries in th borough, .but next month, during National Carers Week on June 14, further information, advice and support will be available for the public at 10.00am - 11.30am - Marcus Garvey Library, 12.00pm - 1.30pm - Wood Green Library and 2.00pm - 3.30pm - Hornsey Library. Cllr Nilgun Canver, cabinet member for Enforcement and Safer Communities, says: "We just want people to know there is a way out. It is possible to tackle drug habits and support the families and friends of those who have them. It may be that the drug user does not yet want help but the families need information, it might be that prostitutes and sex workers require help but don't want to use mainstream services. In any case, if you want advice about your own or someone else's drug habit please visit the stalls outside the libraries and take the first step to getting help." |
